Book blurb:
Tethered by her impulsive promise to marry Lord John Lemon - the path of least resistance - Alexandria Featherstone sets off toward Iceland in search of her parents with a leaden heart. A glimpse of her guardian, the Duke of St. Easton - the path less traveled by - on Dublin’s shore still haunts her.

Will he come after her? Will he drag her back to London, quelling her mission to rescue her treasure-seeking parents, or might he decide to throw caution to the wind and choose Foy Pour Devoir: “Faith for Duty,” the St. Easton motto. The Featherstone motto Valens et Volens: “Willing and Able,” beats in her heart and thrums through her veins. She will find her parents and find their love, no matter the cost.

The powerful yet wing-clipped Duke of St. Easton has never known the challenge that has become his life since hearing his ward’s name. Alexandria Featherstone will be the life or the death of him. Only time and God’s plan will reveal just how much this man can endure for the prize of love.

Author Interview!!!

One/Two word/s that describe your book?

FINDING DESTINY

One sentence: Why we should read your book?

You will be swept across Regency Europe on a romantic, adventurous quest that will thrill your heart and resonate with the deep desire to find your destiny.

Why was the series called The Forgotten Castles Series?

Killyleagh castle
Each book in the series has a castle that plays a role in the plot. In The Guardian Duke there are two castles - a crumbling, forgotten castle where Alexandria grew up on Holy Island, England named Lindisfarne Castle and KillyleaghCastle, a fairy tale castle tucked away in the sleepy little village of Killyleagh, County Down, Ireland. When I started writing the second book in the series, The Forgiven Duke, I had a moment of panic when I learned that there are no actual castles in Iceland! But then I discovered the Dimmuborgir, black lava formations that look enough like a castle that they are called the Black Castles. It was perfect for a creepy scene! In book three, A Duke’s Promise, I found Malaspina Castle in Massa, Italy. This castle has a long and violent history, perfect for my antagonist’s home.

Malaspina Castle
If you would become one of the characters of your book, who would it be?

This is tough because there is a little of me in all my characters, but I guess I would say the heroine, Alexandria Featherstone. She is raising herself while her parents do what they want to do with their lives and I experienced some of that growing up (preacher’s daughter!). I love her optimism and naivety. She believes the best in people and I try to do that too.

If this would turn into a movie, who would be the main cast?
I would love for Gabriel, the Duke of St. Easton, to be played by Francesco Cura an Italian model, actor and opera singer play the role of Gabriel, the Duke of St. Easton.

Francisco Cura
Ashley Greene
And Alexandria, my heroine, could be played by Ashley Greene.

Gabriel Aubry
For Alexandria’s parents – Ian and Katherine Featherstone, I’m thinking Rob Lowe and the gorgeous Madeleine Stowe. And for some of the side characters . . . how about Zach Galifianakis and Anthony Hopkins for Baylor and Montague. John could be played by Gabriel Aubry (I know, ironic that his name is Gabriel  ). This is so fun to imagine!!!

Madeleine Stowe
Rob Lowe
Zach Galifianakis
Anthony Hopkins

Music or Book?
Book. There’s nothing quite like getting swept away into a beautiful story!

Love or Life?
I think love – especially God’s love. I can’t imagine life without that.

Reality or Fantasy?
Fantasy! That’s why I became a writer – to live in that world as much as possible!

If I can’t sleep, I would read a book. Works every time.
The craziest thing I did was stalk a boy in high school. I even baked him cookies and broke into his locker to give them to him!
My greatest dream is to fulfill the destiny that God created me to do and be.
The place I’d like to go someday is all the locations in the Forgotten Castles series! Dublin, Killyleagh and Belfast, Ireland; Holy Island and London, England; Reykjavik and the southern towns of Iceland; Geneva, Switzerland and the Tuscan region and Ligurian Sea area of Italy.

One thing people don’t know about me is I wish I had written my memoirs. I plan to, but it still feels too soon and kind of hard to revisit a tumultuous childhood. I will, God willing, write it someday though!
