Blurb about the book:
Shackled
The Blurb
After shy, quiet Lucy
and her family move from their small hometown in Minnesota to Seattle,
Washington, she is surprised when Ryan, the most popular boy at school
asks her out. Soon, she is swept up in a whirlwind romance and her
naïve and trusting nature allows her to fall head over heels in love
with her too-good-to-be suitor. Suddenly, Lucy finds herself enraptured
by the excitement of her new relationship, leaving her blinded to the
warning signs of danger ahead. Can her fairy tale romance last, or will
she find that her prince charming is more like a wolf in sheep’s
clothing.

Interview!!!
One/Two
word/s that describe your book?
Heartpounding(like
how I stuck them together to get another word)
and thought provoking. Okay, I’m really bad at the two word thing.
One
sentence: Why we should read your book?
Because
I never want you to go through Lucy’s experience and this book is a
great cautionary tale to let you experience it without experiencing
it. !
What’s
the reason behind the title "Shackled"?
I
chose the title Shackled because this book is all about the sickness
of controlling behavior. In the book, you’ll be so surprised at how
Lucy becomes shackled, but in this case, the name really fits.
Embarrassingly enough, after the name was already printed I
discovered all kinds of naughty books with a similar title. Won’t
those smut seekers be disappointed when the start reading my
Shackled.
If
you would become one of the characters of your book, who would it be?
Brecken,
she is a supporting character, but she is so comfortable in her own
skin and so spunky.
If
this would turn into a movie, who would be the main cast?
I
don’t care as long as Mason is someone gorgeous, and kind of
unkempt.
| Ian Somerhalder |
Like this????
Music
or Book?
Seriously,
that is like asking air or oxygen
If I had to give up one it would be music because I could still sing
but I can’t create other people’s writing and I thrive when I
read.
Love
or Life
Life
is meaningless without love. So I’d rather die having love in my
life, than live in a loveless void. How sappy is that!
Reality
or Fantasy?
That is a tough one. Fantasy can be
so much nicer than reality, but I think I would take reality because
that is where all the real living is done. I’m okay with things
not being perfect. My own mother died when I was three years old.
Sometimes life is tragic, but at the same time, it is in these
tragedies that we find our inner strength and we appreciate the good
we have in our lives. Plus, reality is where my friends and family
are, so I’ll just visit fantasy land from time to time.
If
I can’t sleep, I
would go find one of my kitties and pet her until I felt better.
The
craziest thing I did was to break
a big water fountain in front of a country club while playing in it
with my boyfriend.
My
greatest dream is to
have my kids grow up and be happy, that and to sleep in every day.
The
place I’d like to go someday is Finland.
We had a foreign exchange student from there.
One
thing people don’t know about me is
I was raised by my dad and he taught me to love cars, especially old
ones. When you read my books, there is always a cool car.
I
wish I had written more
about Jenny, my main character in Unbreakable Love. It was my first
book and now I realize there was so much more to tell about her.
Where
could readers go to know more about you and your books?
My
amazing husband put together my website so I have to show that off—
On
the website, buttons take you everywhere from Amazon to facebook to
samples of my writing. Happy clicking.
I
have a blog to keep readers updated and of course for general
ramblings
You
can also contact me through email at angelacarling@gmail.com
That
should do it.
Is
there anything else you'd like to say?
Finally,
I just want to say thank you for your support. Getting known as a
writer is no small task and I appreciate so many people, some of whom
I’ll never get to meet…oh yeah and HAPPY READING!
About Angela:
Angela Carling was raised in Palm Springs, California but now resides in
Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, three kids and five felines. After
years of denial, she final admitted, that she is in fact, a hopeless
romantic, which allowed her to let down her hair and write her first
book, Unbreakable Love. She always eats the frosting of her cake and
cookies but leaves the rest, and can be caught singing in public
bathrooms just for the acoustics. She graduated from Brigham Young
University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. When she is not
writing YA novels, she is secretly using her family as Guiney pigs to
test what she learned in College.
