Shadows of Suspicion

..“Only God knows how everything is going to end, so there is no reason for you to worry over a problem with no answer”..

I love this phrase from this book; this will be forever remembered.

Shadows of Suspicion is another book from Ms. Ashley Dawn, a sequel to Shadows from the Past. It’s about Kerry, Jordan’s sister who was kidnapped by Chris, Charles’ son ( Charles, the mastermind and the evil in this series, who was luckily in prison right now) and Luke , a friend of Rick, Jordan’s brother. Ok, this is a bit complicated. Kerry was kidnapped and Luke came to the rescue. Then he stayed as a bodyguard for her because Chris won’t stop, partly because he wants to free his father and mostly because he fell crazily in love with Kerry. That’s the whole point of this.

Now, Luke’s life evolves with keeping Kerry alive or doing his job. He hadn’t taken relationships seriously and he didn’t commit himself to any other person, but Kerry is going to be an exception. So would he rather be a part of Kerry’s life and get rid of his job, or get rid of Kerry and go on with his life.

This is an enchanting tale about faith, romance, mystery and action. Compared to the first book, this has much going on. We get to know Luke better, his past and his relationship with God and of course get annoyed by the clumsy attempt of the antagonist to capture Kerry..lol.. A lot of police work being thrown here and there and add to that spices of mystery and romance was added. The author writes vividly and clearly emphasizing her points and message of the novel.

I am amazed of how this book could trigger romance but at the same time, hold it, a little conservative, but definitely scorching. I like how the author presents a love story which is as always concerned with faith on God.

And I definitely love the message that no matter what happens God is there for you. And a person whom you truly love has the power to bring you back in His hands.

You need not to worry if you hadn’t read the first one, because this is a stand-alone read which would keep you reading til the end, but reading the first book would give you references about the other characters..:)

I enjoyed this book a lot, it made me laugh and cry at the same time, and it inspired me regarding my faith. This is highly recommendable, and I would be watching out for the next book in the series.
