AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Pretty Amy is a big hit, and now you have the second book Dear Cassie, are there any similarities between the two books, the characters ?

Pretty Amy (Pretty Amy, #1)Dear Cassie (Pretty Amy, #2)
Yes, they are companion novels, so whole they don't follow each other, they contain some of the same characters. Cassie was one of Amy's best friends who was arrested with her on Prom Night.

On that note, can you share with us what Dear Cassie is all about?
It tells the story of Cassie spending 30 days at a wilderness camp for teens via her diary entries. She is thet for the arrest, but she is really dealing with some much heavier issues. She meets a boy named Ben and their tumultuous relationship helps her heal.

I'm really curious as to the title of the series, why "Pretty Amy"?
It's because Amy who appears in the first book, taught her pet parrot to say that to her. It's sort of a metaphor for the voice in our heads that we try very hard to keep positive

What are you currently working on? (The sequel to Dear Cassie may be :))
Actually, I am. It's a novella about Ben and Cassie after Dear Cassie told from both their points of view and titled "The Possibility of Us".

If you had to describe yourself using three words, it would be…Cynical, Thoughtful, Boisterous
Do you also keep a journal?
No, no time ;)

If you are the one who's sent to Turning Pines Wilderness Camp, what would be the reason for it
Hmmm, a reason very similar to why Cassie was sent there.

What is the perfect prom get-up for you?
Strapless dress, blue probably. A lot like what AMY wears on the cover of Pretty Amy.

When people look at me, they would never guess that I love Lifetime Movies, the cheesier the better.

What are 3 things you never leave home without (apart from keys, money and phone)?
Hand Lotion, a pad and pen, lip balm.

Before we end this interview, I’d love to ask you to say something for the readers of Bookshelf Confessions and I would also like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking time to answer these questions.

Just that I really appreciate bloggers like yourself. You give readers an inside glimpse into authors and help let people know about our books, so thank you!
