AUTHOR INTERVIEW

I am one of the privileged to read your book Forgiven ( thank you so much for the review copy) but to those who has not read any of your books, how would you describe the “Demon Trappers Series”? ((You can read my review of Forgiven here))

The Demon Trappers is a young adult urban fantasy series about a teen doing her best to ruin Hell’s day. Riley Blackthorne is 17 and she wants to be a demon trapper just like her dad. Unfortunately, this puts her right in the middle of the “Grand Game” between Heaven and Hell. The stakes are brutal and Riley (and her trapper buddy Denver Beck) learn a number of hard lessons before the series ends. And there’s romance too!

It's really sad to see the series end but it's also fulfilling, what are your current projects right now?
My latest book, Briar Rose, was just published and I’m currently working on a Riley and Beck novella set after the end of FORETOLD. That will be out in late November 2013.

Your new book Briar Rose is about a dark and sexy reimagining of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, please tell us more about it. (I'm smitten by the cover by the way) :)

 Briar Rose
Doesn’t the cover just rock? Briar Rose is a twisted version of Sleeping Beauty with steampunk, metal magic, Hoodoo and nasty Civil War ghosts. My Briar is 16, lives in the tiny town of Bliss, Georgia and is all about fairytales, until she finds herself inside a curse that really wants her dead.

If you had to describe yourself using three words, it would be…
Curious. Cynical and cautious.

When people look at me, they would never guess that I
Am older than I appear.

What are 3 things you never leave home without (apart from keys, money and phone)?
Handwipes, pen and paper (for story ideas)

What question have you always wanted to be asked in an interview? How would you answer that question?
If you were going to run off with a fictional character, who would that be? And the answer would most likely be Denver Beck, which would really make Riley mad. ;-)

And if you were to interview me instead, what would you ask? :D

If you had the chance to have lunch with any author, living or dead, who would it be?

HMMM... I guess it would be Edgar Allan Poe, I'm fascinated with his works and I'd like to know what really cause his death :)

And for ending this interview, I’d love to ask you to say something for the readers of Bookshelf Confessions and I’d like to say thank you so much for making this interview wonderful and possible :)
To all the good folks at Bookshelf Confessions, thanks for being so into books! You guys rock!

GIVEAWAY
Demon Trappers' Swag + a copy of Briar Rose
INT
Briar Rose
A dark and sexy reimagining of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale from the author of THE DEMON TRAPPERS.

For Briar Rose, life is anything but a fairy tale. She's stuck in a small town in deepest Georgia with parents who won't let her out of their sight, a bunch of small-minded, gossiping neighbours and an evil ex who's spreading nasty rumours about what she may or may not have done in the back of his car. She's tired of it all, so when, on her sixteenth birthday, her parents tell her that she is cursed and will go to sleep for a hundred years when the clock strikes midnight, she's actually kind of glad to leave it all behind. She says her goodbyes, lies down, and closes her eyes . . . And then she wakes up. Cold, alone and in the middle of the darkest, most twisted fairy tale she could ever have dreamed of. Now Briar must fight her way out of the story that has been created for her, but she can't do it alone. She never believed in handsome princes, but now she's met one her only chance is to put her life in his hands, or there will be no happy ever after and no waking up.
